lots of stuff..... todo.

I have seriously seriously missed loads of stuff now. someway or other i need to get my hands of syriana, farenhiet 9/11 , badly need to see them all the work related thing has just eaten my time inside out for the past year, not that it been wasted, it has resulted good. but need to take timeout of the daily hamster like routine and relax a bit.

talking of work, its kindof unusal for obvious reason, when working with collegues working around world , not able to see/hear them. no office and the usual things which i am accoustmed to see how other worked/work. I get paid in dollars from usa, but i will pay tax to indian irs , somehow i feel i should be liable to be paid us tax too, cause in a way, i am getting income from usa. not that i am sucker and will like the idea to be milked by two taxing countries but still..

and finally ditched fedora, got gentoo running here, still learning baby steps here, but so far i am liking what i have to do . i might re-install this , just to get myself hardened more in terms of installing gentoo.

also i need to now calculate finances , gnucash looks cool software, once i am settled with gentoo on this laptop. will install gnucash and start book-keeping my resources/bills etc.
peaceout.

serious EYE-Candy from linux. you need to see this video.

Xgl is under_heavy_development Window-Manager cum GL extension for X . Currently the X just rasters from images so to speak (much like microsoft's windows) but a new developed Xgl gives the Windows shell/manager run from accelerated GL graphics taking all power from graphic card and this concept is very much like Quartz used by Apple's Mac OSX operating system.

below is excerpt from Novell's site:-
"Novell is announcing its contribution of the Xgl graphics subsystem and the 'Compiz ' compositing manager to the X.org project. These enhancements open up a whole world of hardware acceleration, fancy animation, separating hardware resolution from software resolution, and more. As a result, Linux desktops will become more usable, end-user productivity will increase, and Linux is firmly positioned at the forefront of client computing technology.

Under the leadership of Novell's David Reveman, Novell has sponsored and led the development of this powerful new graphics subsystem for Linux since late 2004. Xgl is the X server architecture layered on top of OpenGL and takes advantage of available accelerated 3D rendering hardware. It is designed to integrate well with the composite extension and performs best when a compositing manager is running. 'Compiz' is the new OpenGL compositing manager from Novell and is the framework that enables the development of graphical plug-ins."

Now, after reading all that, I would like you to watch all 'words' in 'action' shown in Demo-Video located at LinuxEdge.org site. its a 60 MB file, if you got slow Bandwidth or want to watch small clip/s, click to following Links .

note:- all the above four clip's courtsey of novell.com. and for flash (for in browser view) visit the Novell's site.

Now , this is something which really should make anyone BUY linux instead of opting for FREE DOWNLOAD. Anyone who likes this should really support the developer and company by BUYING it. with no doubt, i will be buying this for sure.
